StarTracker is an optical tracking solution for jibs, pedestals and hand-held rigs that is absolute and answers the growing demand for virtual sets and augmented 3D graphics in broadcast studios and for previs on film sets. StarTracker offers unlimited freedom of movement and gives accurate position, rotation and lens data in realtime. You can move the studio camera in any orientation including 360 degree pans, and to any position in the studio, even right to the edge, as long as enough “stars” are in sight of the tracking camera. Other systems are often restricted in their tracking volume. As the tracking camera points up and doesn’t look into the scene the tracking gets not corrupted by changes in the studio, such as movements of presenter or physical set changes, and is not affected by changes in the lighting configuration.
